The Trauma of Politicized Science

Why is Global Warming so much more dominant in news than say Nanotechnology research. While the latter is far more important for the future of mankind, the latter is mostly a politicized science, which should be seen highly sceptical. While Nanotech might improve our wealth, well-being and our future life, the latter (up-to-now) has only produced beaurocracy, regulations and heated debate with many many insults.

I don't even truly question the fact whether there is global warming or not (or regional climate change), I question whether it should be so important and over-hyped.
Yes, buhhhouhhh, it is a doomsaying genre of science, but still, this is the atomic bomb, too and nobody is hyping it as much (well, except the Iran crisis).
